Homework Plus
Homework Plus is NDUEC’s comprehensive after-school program for students in grades K–8. Designed to promote academic success and personal growth, the program provides individualized support in a safe, structured environment where students are encouraged to become confident, responsible learners.
Powered by more than 300 adults and high school volunteers, Homework Plus pairs students with caring tutors who provide academic guidance, mentorship, and encouragement. By supporting students during the critical after-school hours, the program also gives families peace of mind and more quality time together at home.
Homework Plus meets Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year. Daily snacks and drinks are provided.
The program is built around three key components:
Homework Support
Students receive individualized assistance with homework, reading, writing, and math while developing important organizational, study, and independent-learning skills.
Individualized Tutoring
Volunteer tutors provide one-on-one and small-group instruction tailored to each student’s unique academic needs, helping strengthen skills, build confidence, and reinforce classroom learning.
Enrichment
Students participate in engaging activities that support whole-child development, including STEM projects, art, sewing, music, recreational activities, board games, basketball, and other hands-on learning experiences.
Enrollment is limited to 35 students to ensure personalized attention and meaningful tutor-student relationships. A waitlist is established when capacity is reached.

Registration Fee
You will receive an email confirming that your registration has been submitted. An NDUEC staff member will contact you to inform you that your child(ren) has been guaranteed a spot in the program.
A one-time, nonrefundable $100 registration fee is required for each child upon enrollment. Payment may be made by check or by clicking here to pay via PayPal, credit card, or Venmo (@UrbanEddie). When submitting payment through Venmo, please include your child’s name in the memo line.
Families residing at Lincoln Grant Scholar House are eligible for a discounted registration fee. Click here to pay the discounted fee.
Registration Update
Homework Plus is currently at capacity, and a waitlist is now in effect.
Families may still register their students for Homework Plus. Students will be added to the waitlist in the order registrations are received.
If a space becomes available, the next family on the waitlist will be contacted and offered the available spot. Payment will be due at that time. Families will not be asked to pay a program fee while their student is on the waitlist.
